THE GIRL WHO LIVED WITH GAZELLES
Աղջիկ, որն ապրում էր եղջերուների հետ
There was once a young girl who lived with her father in the city.
Կար չկար մի երիտասարդ աղջիկ, որն ապրում էր իր հոր հետ քաղաքում:
The father went away on a business trip. Հայրը գնաց հեռու առևտրական ճամփորդության: When he came back, the city’s priest, who was a bad man, told him an evil lie about the girl. Երբ նա վերադարձավ, քաղաքի քահանան, որը վատ մարդ էր, նրան մի չար սուտ ասեց աղջկա մասին: Though the lie was not true, the father believed the priest and banished the girl to the desert. Չնայած որ դա սուտ էր, բայց հայրը հավատաց քահանային և վտարեց աղջկան անապատ: “Banished” means sent away forever. Վտարել՝ նշանակում է ընդմիշտ հեռացնել:
In the desert, the girl was adopted (taken care of) by a herd (group) of gazelles. Անապատում աղջկա մասին սկսեց հոգ տանել եղջերուների նախիրը: A “gazelle” is a kind of animal similar to a deer or horse. Եղջերուն (վիթը) դա եղնիկի կամ ձիու նման կենդանի է: She lived with the gazelles for many years. Նա ապրեց եղջերուների հետ երկար տարիներ:
One day, a handsome prince came by and saw the girl. Մի օր գեղեցիկ արքայազնը եկավ և տեսավ աղջկան: The two fell in love and got married. Նրանք սիրահարվեցին և ամուսնացան: Together, they had a son. Նրանք որդի ունեցան:
However, the prince’s advisor was jealous of the love between the prince and the girl. Սակայն արքայազնի խորհրդատուն նախանձում էր նրանց սիրուն: Because of this, he stole the baby. Դրա համր էլ նա գողացավ երեխային: The girl was so upset and frightened (scared) that she ran away to a village nearby. Աղջիկն այնքան վրդովված և վախեցած էր, որ նա փախավ մոտակա գյուղը: There she wore a man’s cloths and found work. Այնտեղ նա հագավ տղամարդու հագուստ և աշխատանք գտավ:
Many years later, the village was holding a hunting competition. Տարիներ անց, գյուղը անցկացնում էր որսորդության մրցույթ: The girl’s father, the priest, the prince, and the advisor were all there. Աղջկա հայրը, քահանան, արքայազնը և խորհրդատուն այնտեղ էին: The girl recognized them (knew who they were), but they did not recognize her. Աղջիկը ճանաչեց նրանց, բայց նրանք չճանաչեցին իրեն:
At the competition, the girl stood up and told her life story to the crowd. Մրցույթի ժամանակ աղջիկը կանգնեց և ամբոխին պատմեց իր կյանքի պատմությունը:
Everyone immediately recognized her. Բոլորը անմիջապես ճանաչեցին նրան: They understood she was telling the truth! Նրանք հասկացան, որ նա ճշմարիտ է խոսում: The girl, the prince, and her father were all happily reunited (brought together again). Աղջիկը, արքայազնը և նրա հայրը ուրախությամբ կրկին միավորվեցին: The priest and advisor were banished to prison. Քահանան և խորհրդատուն բանտ նետվեցին:
They soon learned that the son who had been stolen was actually living in the village. Նրանք շուտով իմացան, որ գողացված տղան իրականում ապրում էր գյուղում: The girl and her husband, the prince, were then reunited with their son. Աղջիկը, նրա ամուսինը՝ արքայազնը, կրկին միավորվեցին իրենց որդու հետ:
The prince was so happy that he passed a law that said that hunters could not hunt (kill) gazelles. Արքայազնը այնքան ուրախ էր, որ մի օրենք հրապարակեց, որը արգելում էր եղջերուների որսը: From that day on, the gazelles were protected from harm. Այդ օրվանից եղջերուներին այլևս վտանգ չէր սպառնում:
